Introduction to Blue J's Card Game
Blue J's is a strategy game where matching symbols and colors make your opponent(s) draw cards. 10+ Ages | 1-8 Players | 1 Hour Play time
Start of the Game 1
The reason the dealer starts with 4 cards is they are setting the stage for how the game is set. They place a card covering one, two or all of the squares. There are no cards drawn from the initial play. The person to the left goes next which is when someone is eligible for drawing cards. Anytime you only match 1 attribute in a square on a card; this does not count towards the number of cards drawn by your opponent.
Start of the Game 2
Place your cards on top of the start card by matching the color only. Since you are not matching two attributes this play does not force your opponent to draw cards.
Matching Squares
Match symbols and colors in the same square. When covering up a square you must match a color or symbol in each square you cover up but only the squares that match both are counted for the number of cards your opponent draws. The number doubles for every square you match on one card.
Match 1 = Draw 1
Match 2 = Draw 2
March 3 = Draw 4
Match 4 = Draw 8
Bonus Turn
You get to play 1 card per turn but if you make the next player draw more than 1 card you get a bonus turn to be used right away!
Using Block Cards
A block square can cover ANY square but it cannot be covered up, even with another block square.
Block Cards Strategy
Use your block cards to limit how your opponent can play!
Revenge Block Card
There are 2 Revenge Block cards in the Revenge Block Decks. These cards are used when playing with more than 2 players. They would be treated as a regular block card if less than 3 players.
Winning the Round by Running Out of Cards
Be the first to run out of cards will win you the round!
Running Out the Deck
Most rounds you will not reach the end of the deck but if you do then the player with the least amount of cards in their hand will win the round!
A Blue J's Win!
If you match a Blue J's square with another Blue J's s you win the round!
Blue J's Stategy!
When you have 2 Blue J's Cards in your hand you would incorporate the bonus round to win the round! If you are fortunate enough to see a Blue J's card played on the playing field match your Blue J's Card for a round win.
Solo Play blue j's Easy mode
The difference between easy and harder levels is if you can only match a color or a symbol and not both you discard 8 cards in easy mode. Harder modes you would lose at solo play Blue J's. There are three levels where you can increase your level of difficulty. When you only match 1 sqaure you discard between 2-4 cards. 2 = Easy, 3 = Medium, and 4 = Hard mode. In this example we will only discard 2 cards thus playing in easy mode.
SOLO PLAY BLUE J'S hard MODE
In this video we will be using the Foil Front Deck. You will also see the cards being played in Hard mode which means that if only a color or a symbol can be matched and not both you would lose the game. When you match one square you discard 4 cards. All other rules are the same as in the above video.
Playing Blue J's with more than 2 players
In this video we will jump into round 8.
Tournament play blue j's
This is the first time we ever played blue J's in tournament style play. This means there are two teams the match up against each other for braggin rights or trophies! the person sitting across the table from you is your team mate and the most amount of round Winner Tokens won by both team members will win the game. Three games are played out and the winner, best of three, moves on to the championship.
